FIRE INSTRUCTIONS
If there is, or you suspect, a fire in your apartment:
Activate fire alarm – by breaking glass of the closest call point
Telephone 999 and report the fire
Evacuate everyone from your apartment, quickly but safely ( do not use the lift ), close the front door as you exit and assemble in the car park
Encourage everyone else out of the building, advising them you believe there is a fire and the fire brigade have been called
Arrange for the main entrance gates to be open and wait to meet the fire brigade
Tell them the precise location of the fire
If fire alarm sounds (very loud continuous ringing):
Evacuate everyone from your apartment, quickly but safely (do not use the lift) and assemble in the car park
Encourage everyone else out of the building
If a suspected false alarm:
Liaise with others ( advise them if you believe there has been a false alarm in your apartment ) and agree who will take responsibility for investigating the alarm ( the responsible person)
Responsible person ( only ) enters the block and follows INSTRUCTIONS TO RESET FIRE ALARM mounted beside alarm panel
Do not re-enter building until instructed to do so by the responsible person

INSTRUCTIONS TO RESET FIRE ALARM
FIRE ALARM HAS BEEN ACTIVATED BUT A SUSPECTED FALSE ALARM - ACTIONS FOR THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON

If there are any signs of fire or smoke - ensure 999 has been called and DO NOT RE-ENTER THE BUILDING.

IF A SUSPECTED FALSE ALARM – Inspect the wall mounted FIRE ALARM PANEL and establish which zone is showing the alarm activation. A red indication light will light up on the ceiling outside the activated apartment.

Return to car park and liaise with everyone who has evacuated that Block. Has anyone seen any evidence of fire or smoke?

If YES, and unless already called, call 999. If NO, make an external, visual inspection of the front of that block – is there any evidence of fire or smoke?

If YES, call 999. If NO, return to FIRE ALARM PANEL.

Follow Panel Instructions.

If alarm is silenced and remains so, return to the building and make a final appraisal. If no evidence of fire or smoke, return to car park and advise everyone a FALSE ALARM and they can return to their apartments.

If alarm re-activates, please call AG Fire and Security, 01548 559330, quoting THE MOORINGS, and follow their instructions.
